Last winter in January of 2008, when we were living in the rental house, we had one day of unusually warm weather. I think the high was 58 degrees and sunny, which is unheard of around here. It was such a glorious day that we stopped everything we were doing and went outside to enjoy the weather. Because of the warmth, the snow had melted and the driveway was dry. The kids were thrilled at the prospect of skateboarding outside on the ramp and riding their bikes, especially Tom (he's almost 4 in this picture). It's rare to ever have a day in January where the kids don't have to load up with hats, gloves, boots, and especially jackets. It was a wonderful respite even if only for a day.

Two days later there was a foot and a half of snow on the ground.... =(
